We will be having elections for prospective board members on Sunday, August 4th 2024 at 6pm located inside the Upper Busch Center 450 E Thach Ave behind AUUF. We will be looking for individuals to fill the following roles:
President: Responsible for overseeing the operations of Pride on The Plains. Responsible for organizing the board, the meetings, and keeping the vision and mission of Pride on The Plains growing.
Vice-President: Responsible for overseeing committees and making sure all jobs are being done in a timely and efficent manner. All committee members answer to the vice-president. The Vice-President is also responsible for leading meetings if the president is unavailable.
Secretary Responsible for keeping minutes in every meeting, creating a meeting agenda, and overall organization of the team google drive.
Treasurer Responsible for all monitary transactions for Pride on the Plains, keeping track of accounts, incoming and outgoing money, and creating a budget for the 2024 PrideFest.
Events & Fundraising Responsible for curating events that will raise funds for Pride on The Plains and responsible for reaching out to local businesses and corporations for sponsorships. Also responsible for planning sponsorship days every other month for board members to assist with obtaining sponsorships. Event planning skills are a plus! Works closely with the President.
Merchandise Responsible for setting up merchandise at events, as well as inventory count, and suggesting merchandise to order for events throughout the year including PrideFest 2023! Design background preferred but not required. Works closely with the Treasurer.
Outreach Responsible for organizing free events such as the Monthly Coffee Mafia family fun day, TranSummit, etc. and traveling to areas of Alabama with the executive board to table at local pride and non profit festivals. Also responsible for tracking LGBTQIA+ holidays/news/events and working with the public relations to create social media campaigns as necessary. Works closely with the Secretary.
Parades Responsible for organizing a parade float for every major parade in Auburn/Opelika (Homecoming, Christmas, Mardi Gras) and our own Pride Parade. This also includes organizing location and dates for board members to assist in creation and obtaining materials for float creation within the budget given by the treasurer. Will work closely with the Vice President.
Public Relations Responsible for social media management, adding all events to google calendar and submitting events to Auburn/Opelika Tourism for the local calendar. Also responsible for creating flyers for events and creating those events on social media in advance. Previous background in social media management across various platforms preferred. Works closely with the President.
Auxiliary Auxiliary members are also the muscle behind Pride. Auxiliary members can serve on committees associated with the Board Members above or assisting the executive board. Nonetheless, most events require assistance for setup, breakdown, and support in running smoothly and efficiently! This is where you will shine. Additionally, there are no max amounts of auxiliary members, so we welcome all the help!
